Pakistan vs new Zealand test, New Zealand's grip on Christchurch Test strengthened

Kiwi captain Ken Williamson scores first century of 2021, scoring 286 for 3

Pakistan and New Zealand on the second day of the second Test, New Zealand have scored 286 runs for the loss of 3 wickets at the end of the day. New Zealand's Tom Latham and Tom Blundell came to open but couldn't stay long ahead of the Pakistani bowlers. Latham scored 33 runs and was caught by Shaheen Shah Afridi while Blindel was caught by Faheem Ashraf for 16 runs.

Ross Taylor also could not stay on the crease for long and scored 12 runs and was caught by Shaun Masood on the ball of Muhammad Abbas. Captain Ken Williamson once again showed a batting class and scored the second consecutive century and the 24th century of his Test career, while Henry Nichols scored a half-century with his full support.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat. The top order of the national team failed once again. Shaun Masood was dismissed without opening an account. Abid Ali 25, Haris Sohail returned to the pavilion with 1 run. Century maker Fawad Alam also proved to be the guest of only 2 runs.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan and Azhar Ali proved their responsibility and scored half-centuries. However, Azhar Ali was bowled out for 93 by the nervous nineties. Mohammad Rizwan played an innings of 61 runs. Faheem Ashraf continued his all-rounder performance with an innings of 48 runs while Zafar Gohar, who played his first Test, also scored 34 runs. For New Zealand, Kyle Jameson took 5 wickets, Tim Southee and Trent Bolt took 2 wickets each. It should be noted that New Zealand already has an unbeaten lead of zero within the two-Test series.
