On the fifth and final day of the Test, the Pakistani batsmen put up strong resistance against the New Zealand bowlers, but it became difficult for Pakistan to save the match after the dismissal of Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Fawad Alam has scored his second century in Test cricket after 11 years and 5 months. He made his Test debut in July 2009.
