Muhammad Rizwan became the first Pakistani captan to score half-centuries in both innings of the first Test.

Rizwan is the first Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman to score half-centuries in both innings of a Test outside Asia.

 In the first Test, national team captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan became the first national player to score half-centuries in both innings of the first Test as captain. He is also the 10th captain in the world to receive the award, ahead of India Virat Kohli scored half-centuries in both innings during the Adelaide Test in 2014.

Mohammad Rizwan is the first Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman to score half-centuries in both innings of a Test outside Asia. Mohammad Rizwan was the fourth Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman to score fifty in both innings of the Test, after Saleem Yousuf, Kamran Akmal and Sarfraz Ahmed (three times).

Mohammad Rizwan scored 60 off 191 balls in the second innings of the first Test against New Zealand which was the longest innings played by any Pakistani wicketkeeper outside Asia in the fourth innings of the Test while any Pakistani wicketkeeper It was the second longest innings played by Pakistan and the second longest innings played by any Pakistani captain.

Earlier, national team captain Misbah-ul-Haq had scored 70 not out off 226 balls in the Wellington Test in 2011 while Moin Khan had scored 117 off 208 balls in the 1995 Sialkot Test against Sri Lanka.
