No senior PPP leader attended the meeting. Now, however, another piece of news has surfaced, which has further fueled speculation about differences within the PDM. It has been reported that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has decided not to attend the PPP meeting on December 27. According to party sources, the JUI-F chief will not attend the Larkana meeting due to a meeting of his party's working committee.

The PPP also did not invite Maulana to attend the Larkana rally. Talking to a program on a private TV channel regarding the differences within the PDM, senior journalist Sabir Shakir said that the Mardan meeting has clarified the cracks within the PDM. Leaders of all PDM parties were allowed to address the rally, but the PPP, the coalition's second-largest party, was absent.

No PPP leader addressed the gathering. It became clear that the PPP and other PDM parties were no longer on the same page. According to sources, there are reports that Asif Zardari has contacted Nawaz Sharif in London and made it clear that the PPP will not resign from the assemblies, his party will also participate in the Senate elections in March
