I fired Talat Hussain: Shaheen Shehbai's response to
Siddique Jan's statement
Asked in the light of media censorship allegations against
the current government during a private TV channel's program "In
Focus", the young journalist and YouTuber Siddique Jan dismissed the
notion that when there is a financial interest When it comes to stopping the
news, the responsibility of journalism can be fulfilled, then why stopping any
news in the national interest is called journalistic ban.
Citing an example, Siddique Jan said that if news came
against Malik Riaz or his real estate business Bahria Town, the channels and
journalists would stop it because it was in their financial interest but when
against institutions or at the national level. If the government refuses to
give any news that spreads defamation, it makes a fuss that the government has
blocked the press and is not giving freedom of speech.
Criticizing senior journalist Syed Talat Hussain in this
regard, Siddique Jan said that instead of distinguishing between right and
wrong in journalism, he was only supporting anti-government propaganda. He said
as evidence that Talat Hussain on September 20 Since then, no one has spoken or
tweeted against the PDM and the parties involved.
In response, Talat Hussain started blabbering on about big
issues related to journalism, constitution and principles, but he still did not
say anything in response to Siddique Jan's claim.
Highlighting Talat Hussain's principled and elegant
journalism, his old colleague Shaheen Shehbai said that he had heard Siddique
Jan and Dawn's program. He was fired because he was sitting in the editor's
chair by himself. There was no contract. He was becoming a scholar by talking
thick and thick, but he did not answer the basic point of Siddique.
In response to Shaheen Shehbai's tweet, a user raised the
question of who he had fired, to which he said it was Talat Hussain who was
fired by Shaheen Shehbai as a group editor. Because the entire staff of The
News English newspaper's office was protesting against him.
On the same issue, Shaheen Shehbai made another tweet and
said that some time ago Talat Hussain had blocked him on Twitter because he was
afraid to face the truth or did not dare to hear the truth
